Valentines Day is coming!
Hello
everyone, I have a Valentine post for you today. I have recently fallen
in love all over again with foiling, lol. I've always loved it but
forgot about my poor Minc machine. Well, it's been up and running once
again. Today's project has some foiling and some electronic die cutting.
So,
for the elements on this card, I printed some digital paper with my
Brother laser printer. Foiling will only work with the toner in this
type of printer. An ink jet will not work. Fleurette has recently added "Foil Its"
to her store already printed in toner ink and all you have to do is
have the foil and a machine to run it through. No printer needed!!!
Check those out, for sure.
It
is so hard to capture high shine images, but the red heart has been
foiled with red Deco foil. Heidi Swapp foils are good too. I first cut
the heart out using my Silhouette Cameo and then ran it through my Minc
with the red foil. The gold heart is cut from gold metallic paper in my
stash.
I
used foam tape to adhere the hearts/arrow element to the scallop shape.
I then added that, along with the sentiment, to a piece of red card
stock matted with black.
Sorry
for the reflection but the red and gold are so shiny! Beautiful in real
life. I stamped the sentiment with Versamark ink and embossed with gold
embossing powder. I scattered around a few gold, black and red, sequins
and glitter dots to finish off the card front. This entire piece was
put on to a white A2 sized card base.
Here is where I got the parts and pieces for this project.
I
hope you get a bit of inspiration from my post today. If you have never
done any foiling, maybe you'd want to try with some of the Foil Its
first. If you love it like I do, you'll wanna foil everything. I picked
up my Brother laser printer at a local office store for under 75.00. The
one thing with laser printers is the ink cartridge lasts a long time!
And you don't get the clogging of the ink jets that you can with an ink
jet printer...which they say you need to print something often to keep
them open. If you don't, you'll be paying for a cleaning or worse,
replace your print head...if it can be replaced! Ask me how I know!!! In
fact, I recently had to replace a almost new ink jet printer (clogged
jets too costly to repair) with a Brother color laser printer. In case
you want to check it out, I got mine from Amazon.
