Candy Corn Shaker Card

I had an idea one night lying in bed about how to make a candy corn shaker card.
So, for my DT project this week, I set out to see if I could make it work.
I opened the candy corn file from Fleurette Bloom and used my software to get the "parts" I wanted.

I opened it a couple times cause I needed a couple. I layered the the orange middle section on top of the yellow bottom layer and did a "back minus front" to get the bottom yellow piece I needed. Then, using a second orange layer, I layered the white layer on top of that, and again did a "back minus front". This gives you the three pieces you'll need to make your sections.

Next, with each piece, I created an inset shadow layer.... .017. Making it in far enough to give a decent size frame piece. Center those two pieces over each other and go up to Object on the toolbar and select Merge. This will give you your little frame for each color. White, orange, and yellow.

Cut several of these little frames. I think I cut six or eight of each. Glue them all together and you get yourself these little framed pieces, deep enough to hold a good amount of these tiny seed beads. Save one of each color that will be glued on top of the acetate piece.

I then glued all those "frames" in position, on top of a patterned paper. Now you can carefully add your beads, go all around the outside edge with some liquid glue and glue on your clear acetate.
Then glue on another frame of each of the colors to finish off the top to look nice.
I layered all of that on top of a black shadow layer.

Embellish as you'd like and you have yourself a candy corn shaker card!

Here's your shopping list.

Pickles & Ice Cream Anyone?!

Hello Everyone!  KimberlyRae, back to share with you a couple of cards from Fleurette Bloom Stamps!

FB Stamps are so Fun to work with, here I used two of the Brand NEW stamps sets, to  make my pickles and ice cream cards.

I thought about putting them together and it would be so fun to give to a friend or family member that's having a baby ;)

For my background I used my Zig Real Brush markers and painted on with lots of water.  Then, I sprinkled some embossing powder [to appear as candy crystals] and colored each image with my Zigs.

TIP:   Cut image out first with Scan N cut2 , then color.  That way the SNC doesn't cut around where  you go out of the lines.

For these Cuties, I stamped two images and bumped one up from the card.  I colored them with my Zig Real Brush Markers.

TIP:  Use a dot of color with your brush [I used a zig detail brush]  on a dampened paper first....makes those cool pickle bumps!

Also, for the background I inked up the 'heart' stamp, from the set and stamped all over pattern paper and then,  tapped my brush to make the paint spatters.

TIP:  I Always Heat Set my Stamped images, Before coloring, that way there's no chance of bleeding.

For both card bases, I cut them out on my SNC2 and used FB's "Rockin Quick Card SVG kit"  That way all that's left to do is fold it over [perforated] and viola your cards are finished!

Thank you for stopping by and leaving your comments and questions in the comment box below:)

Hugs and Blessings,

Funky Fall Pumpkin Boxes...

Hey guys, I've got a post today for Fleurette Bloom Design Team. Last year Fleurette designed these cute funky style pumpkin boxes. Never got to make them, so pulled up the file this year. I think they are pretty cool...something different!
I pulled out some patterned papers from my stash, it is last years, at least! Anyway, I liked the kind of grungy look of the oranges and purples. I used foam dimension tape to add the panels to the boxes. My only regret, looking at it now, is that the white foam tape shows...sad face. Wish I had had black on hand, but I don't.

Here's a pic of all three boxes together. I pulled out some Halloween stamp sets I have and thought this big "BOO" would look cute. Then I cut some bats from a Fleurette file and used other bling, twine, and sequins.

I like the bit of sparkle from the sequins and hard to see, but added black liquid pearls for the eyes on the bats.

If you look close, you might see the eyes on these bats. Glued on a flair button on top of the twine ribbon.

I kept the tops to black papers so the stems and leaves would show off nicely. I tied twine around all the stems and crinkled up the leaves and rubbed ink on them. I curled up the tiny strips and glued those as well. Ugh....that white foam...I think I'll try to see if I can get the tiny tip of a black marker in there to hide it better. Why do we find these things after we're all done and taking the pics?! Learn from my error...have black and white foam adhesives, lol.
Anyway, these were fun to make. Here's what I used on these boxes.
So, there you have it. Something a little different for your fall season. Get out your toys and make up something fun! Happy Crafting!

Autumn Shaker Box

Hello again! Becki from the Happy Card Factory here and back with an adorable little Fall shaker box. I just love how it turned out. Such festive boxes for candy favors at your next holiday party.
The Holly Days collection for Christmas by Fleurette Bloom Designs has some of the cutest gift giving elements, but I wanted to make an Autumn themed shaker box. Using the Holly and Bow box, I broke the holly out of the front panel and replaced it with one of the leaves from the Harvest Happenings- Leaf card SVG. See how having multiple kits in your crafting arsenal can help you make any design your heart desires? :)
A little glitter here with a few sequins there and you won't be able to stop shaking this little guy. Super easy and such a beautiful touch to gift giving! If you want a some more information regarding how I put this shaker box together, head over to HCF for details.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out the Design Team's projects week after week. We appreciate it. Please leave a comment to let us know how we are doing or any kits/designs your would like to see featured. Then head over to the store to pick up the amazing SVG files from Fleurette. Your electronic cutting machine will thank you. ;)

Banana Split Stamped, Watercolor, Copic Colored Card

Hi, Fleurette here today :)  Hope everyone had fun creating cards for World Card Making Day!  I had fun playing and created this fun, colorful Birthday Card from our "Ice Cream Party" Clear Photo Polymer stamp set.

I did a tutorial on coloring this cute stamp with Copic markers Vs Colored Pencils
You can watch it by clicking here

I also did a fun Periscope on assembling it on WCMD
You can watch it by clicking here

To create this fun card, I simply watercolored on heavy weight cardstock, using the SVG Kit "Rockin Quick Cards" Motorcycle card base and overlays.  On the second overlay I stamped the sentiment "Your The Cherry On Top" with embossing ink and white powder, creating my own patterned paper.  I think it gives a fun contrast, almost like a chalkboard.

Thanks for popping in and hope to see you again soon!

Halloween Bat Shaker Card

Good morning!  Beth from Beth's Beauties here, and I am blessed to be guest designing for Fleurette again today!  I made this spooky bat card using the Halloween Card Kit from Fleurette Bloom.

I knew it was perfect to alter for a shaker card as soon as I saw it!  The card design is fairly simple, so it really showcases the sequins well.

I used mostly Lime Licorice Batty Sequins (Look at those bat sequins!!) with a little Orange Licorice Batty Sequins and I also added a few white ones to bring out the colors on my striped paper.  The Lime Licorice Trendy Twine I used matched those sequins perfectly!

This kind of a card would be a hit for anyone on your card list.  For more links and descriptions, stop by my blog HERE.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!
