Delicate Ink Blending with Dogwood Flower stamp set

Hello and thanks for stopping by! Today I'm happy to share a project with you using the Dogwood Flower stamp set and Atelier inks to create a delicate ink blended look.

The background is created directly onto the card base. I placed a rectangle stencil over the card base and secured it on the back side with washi tape. Placing this unit in the MISTI, I stamped with Blackout Ink, making sure the image was partially on and off the open stenciled area. It looks a little odd but all will work out in the final result!

Using a pointed tip ink blending brush (I used one from Trinity Stamps) and a very light touch, inked the areas on the outside edge of the stamped images with Marilyn Red, Bee Sting Yellow and Goddess Green, then added the cleaned stencil back in place and added Peacock Blue lightly around the rectangle area to create the look of a frame. The sentiment from Dogwood Flower stamp set is created with Gold Rush Ultra Fine Detailed Embossing Powder and the Juicy ink pad.

At this point, all of our images are inside that stenciled rectangle area. Stamp the dogwood image twice more with the same ink and fill in color in the same manner. Now, fussy cut just the large flower from one image and the two flowers together from the other stamped image and place them onto the card base directly over the partially stamped image. We now have two corners filled with flowers that hand off of the stenciled area and draw the eye as a nice focal point. The light touch is important to get the delicate look. I finished up by adding a little Liquid Pixie Dust in the flower centers for a sparkly look.

An an alternative to heat embossing, here is another version of the card with a black sentiment:

Here is an easy step by step how-to video for creating this card.

Does this project bring you lots of new ideas for creating? We would love to hear from you! Thank you for visiting us today and I look forward to sharing again with you soon!
