I'm finally getting back into some crafting! Can't believe that the summer is almost over and my kiddies are headed back to school in a few short weeks. I know many schools have already started but I'm thankful for the late start this year :)
So today I want to share with you my latest Fleurette Bloom DT project.
First day of school signs I made for my kids. I will be using them to take photos of them when they head back to school. (I'll post those pics when they happen). They are super simple to make and put together!
Here is what you will need to make your own:
Fonts:
Chalk Hand Lettering
Return to Sender
Travelling Typewriter
SVG Files:
Apple & Pencil - from School Days Kit - files were grouped together and resized.
The apple was then added to the top of the sign and grouped on to the top circle layer of the tag file. Then both the finished circle (sign) and pencil were just print and cut using the Silhouette Cameo.
Tag file (from coffee mug) - from Valentine Be Mine SVG Kit - Enlarged and cut (bottom layer only).
Paper:
Recollections card stock for the Print and Cut.
The bottom layer paper comes from the Simple Stories - Smarty Pants Paper Pack.
To Assemble:
Glue top 3 layers of the sign together, I used my ATG tape runner for that.
Attach the top of the pencil to the bottom of the sign with some glue.
To the back of the pencil, I glued a Popsicle stick. This adds strength to the paper and something for the kids to hold on to. Add a ribbon to the handle and embellish as you like ;)
For those of you that are visual people like me,
here is a video that I filmed while putting one of the signs together. Enjoy and if you haven't yet subscribe! I'm going to try an film more future projects ;)
Hope this post isn't too late for you, and it inspires you to make some of your own back to school First day signs! For a limited time, you can get the School Days collection AND the ABC and 123 digi paper packFREE with a purchase of $8.98 or more at Fleurette Bloom! So get them while you can :)
Good morning my crafty friends! I am back again with another guest designer project for Fleurette Bloom! This time it is a fun back to school project.
I created the shadowbox from Fleurette's I'm Wishing set. It went together beautifully using papers from DCWV's Grade School and Kraft paper stacks.
For the pencils, apple and star I used the School Days collection. They were the perfect accents to the shadowbox!
I also used Celebration and Aqua Midnight Trendy Twines, buttons, a crayon and a paper clip to embellish it.
I used the shadowbox for a photo prop for my boys' first days of school! They loved it. I used a repositionable adhesive under the printed sign that I found online HERE. That way I was able to use the same shadowbox for both of my school-age boys just by changing out the printable.
Hello all! Beth from Beth's Beauties here, and I am very excited that I am a guest designer for the talented Fleurette Bloom! I am so honored that she asked me to work (play) with her files :)
For my project, I wanted to use the Coffee Cup that is in Valentine Be Mine kit.
I used some pretty patterned paper from DCWV's new Happy Day stack. For the flowers and leaves, I used the Lush Flowers kit. That set of flowers is absolutely amazing! I can't get over how real and beautiful they all are. The flower I used on the top is called "Alba".
The roses on the side of the cup are the medium spiral rose.
And here is a close up of the label on the front of the cup.
I also created a simple card to coordinate with the cup. I resized the Papel Banner 2 from the Dia De Los Muertos set to fit onto an A2 size card. Once again, I used papers from the same Happy Day stack. I tied a simple ribbon around it and added a leaf spray from Lush Flowers kit.
I hope you have enjoyed my project for today. I really enjoyed creating these to share with you.
Hello, everyone! It's Becki from the Design Team and I have a cute little project for you today. I took the fishing bag from Hooked on Fishing and transformed it into an adorable purse!
I love files that with just a simple choice of papers can become whole new projects for a myriad of different holidays or people in your life. Makes gift giving so much easier on you...especially your pocketbook. ;)
I used a paper set I have had for a while now - Antique Chic by We R Memory Keepers. It is such a feminine collection. I think it goes great with turning Fleurette's fishing basket into a beautiful purse.
Lately my life has been a bit crazy busy, with the kids at home and summer activities there never seems to be enough time. I think you will agree today's project is perfect for what is going on in my life right now and probably in many of yours too! So, without further adieu, check out this cool little pocket watch treat box... my latestFleurette Bloom Design Team Project.
I used the reel box to create the base of the box. The pocket watch elements were then resized to match up with the base of the reel box. For fun I used a clear acetate circle to create the face on the watch. I then I also used some Tim Holtz Game spinners to create the hands. Finished it off by attaching a metal chain to the pocket watch handle and embellishing it with a couple rosettes.
This stamp couldn't be more perfect for this project.
I think this would make a really great birthday gift for someone. It would also make a really cool guys gift or maybe even a retirement treat. So many possibilities for this, you just need a little imagination and think about who you are making it for :)
Hope you enjoyed my Pocket Watch Treat Box, now go take time to smell the flowers!
Chantel here from ChansCraftyThings. It's been a while since I've done any paper crafting so to get me back into the swing of things, I decided to make this super cute (and super easy) little hat from Fleurette Bloom's awesome new kit - Hooked on fishing.
It's such a fun kit with so many great elements for guys of all ages! That said, I decided to put a girly spin on it to show you just how versatile this kit really is!
I cut and assembled the hat pieces as per instructions on the easy to follow PDF file included with the kit. I was going for a more natural look so didn't want the edges to be perfectly straight. So once I added the hat rim, and while the glue was still a little wet, I curled the edges between my thumb and forefingers in a few places. Once the glue dried properly, the curves were set perfectly.
I didn't cut any of the accent pieces for the hat as I wanted to decorate it with some flowers instead. I used the medium spiral roses from the New "Lush Flowers" 3D SVG Collection to make both the flowers. I just scaled the one down slightly and cut them out of different coordinating papers to create some interest.
Finally, I added a couple of leaves from the same kit, some Kaisercraft pearls, and viola... it was ready to be filled with little treats.
I am so excited to announce Becki Wagner of the Happy Card Factoryis now part of the Fleurette Bloom Design Team!!! Join us in giving her a big warm welcome!

Hello, everyone. I'm a super excited to be here as part of Fleurette's Design Team and work with these wonderful ladies! For my first time sharing with you, I have a pretty nifty project today. A faux wood sign that is perfect for those that love Coastal design. My youngest came over checking out my progress and asked me where I got the wood blocks from. Guess that means I did a pretty good job with Fleurette's files, huh? ;)
For this project I used the "Live, Laugh, Love" kit as the base of my faux wood sign then overlayed the plaques with elements from "Ships Ahoy!" and the "Sunshine" file.
To get the faux wood look on the "Live, Laugh, Love", I used about 4 different colors of Distress Inks. Sponging and dabbing on in various patterns. To give a more weathered look, I took a craft knife and chipped, then frayed the edges of the plaques. I scattered them a bit on the twine to look like they had been hanging in the salt air for a while. The "sand, surf, sun" sentiment does not come in the kit. I used a beach look font with a shadow layer including the starfish that comes with the "Ships Ahoy!" elements.
To get the watercolor effect on the sun and seagull, I used a water brush directly on the Distress Ink pads. To just highlight and contour the cuts. Brushing over with just water to blend and wash out a little color. I really love the way it looks on the sun. The water helped make the paper soft so I could scrape the wing and give a feathery look to the seagull.
Now that I live minutes from the beach, my faux wood sign will help kickstart the re-decorating of my living room to a fabulous coastal look. I can't wait to hang it!
I really hoped you enjoyed my first project as part of the team. If you would like to see more of my work, please stop by the Happy Card Factory. I would love to have you!
