Heels to You

Hi everyone! It’s Jeannie (InsideoutJeans) on the blog today with Ink on 3’s stamp set named, Heels to You. I previously had shared a blog post featuring this same set last month focusing on the floral images in this stamp set. I still had the shoe to create a card with and now, I put together a fun card using it!

Because this shoe is such a large image, I wanted it to be the focus of the card along with a funny sentiment. I also thought a background would need to be rather simple to not distract from the main image and sentiments. I stamped out the floral image from Heels to You using Juicy ink along with Crystal Clear embossing powder all over on a piece of light purple cardstock. 

To add a bit of interest to this background, I pulled out My Jam Purple and Paint It Black Atelier Inks to blend around the edges of the background panel. I think it created fun dimension and also made your eyes lead straight to the middle of the card. 

Once I had the background panel ready, I used this fun sentiment from my stash and stamped it with Blackout Ink. I trimmed it out and added it to fill up the rest of the card. To finish off this card, I added some embellishments and I really love this card!

You're a Beautiful Friend

Hi everyone! It’s Jeannie (InsideoutJeans) on the blog today featuring a bunch of Ink on 3 products all in one card.

I stamped out the floral images from the Heels to You stamp set using Fadeout Ink. I love using Fadeout Ink for no-line coloring and today, I wanted to go for purple/blue flowers.

For the background panel, I used the new Atelier inks in My Jam Purple and Peacock Blue. I used these inks on watercolor paper and created a simple striped background. I painted three lines of purple and two lines of blue. I love how it turned out and it's such a pretty and vibrant background.

I trimmed my card panel and matted it on gold cardstock. Using some rectangular dies, I cut out a few borders. One was actually by accident but I liked how it looked a bit wonky and uneven so I used it.

I adhered the two sets of flowers on the top right and bottom left corner of the card. For the sentiment, I used the coordinating dies from the Heels to You stamp set to have the sentiment "Beautiful Friend". I also decided to use Juicy ink to stamp "You're A" directly onto the card and using Artic White Embossing Powder, it worked perfectly to match the sentiment in white cardstock.

I do adore how this card turned out and am really loving these Atelier Inks to create with.

Atelier Inks & Big Bold Magnolias

Hi everyone! It’s Jeannie (InsideoutJeans) on the blog today with featuring Ink on 3's new Atelier inks! The card I'm featuring today was entirely colored using the new Atelier inks plus the beloved Blackout hybrid ink.

Here's a little summary of the inks and what they can do:

For my card today, I'm using the inks alongside the Big Bold Magnolias stamp set, which were stamped out using Blackout hybrid ink. I'm only using THREE colors to color up this entire card: Marilyn Red, Bee Sting Yellow, and Goddess Green. I decided to use the re-inkers because I wanted to watercolor.

I started off with the background and painted an ombre using Marilyn Red and Bee Sting Yellow. The two colors blended together to create a smooth ombre look without any grittiness or chalkiness. I was especially shocked by how vibrant the yellow was! 

Next, I went ahead and used the three colors (Marilyn Red, Bee Sting Yellow, and Goddess Green) to color in the floral images. I'm definitely not a pro at watercoloring, but these were really easy to use.I found that the lack of water spots really played a role in these inks. I have a tendency to end up with random spots that dried but the inks were super forgiving. 

I wanted to use a sentiment from the Heels to You stamp set. For the die cut words, I actually used the Bee Sting ink pad and covered a piece of white cardstock and then die cut the words "Beautiful" and "Friend" from the Heels to You coordinating die set.   You can really see the vibrancy of the yellow from the ink pad! 

I added a few embellishments to the card and that finished up the card. I'm loving how I can use the same medium to color up an entire card. Have you checked out the inks yet? My first impression is that they are pretty amazing!

Coral Wreath Tutorial

Have you ever had an idea for a card rattling around in your brain for a while before you decide to tackle it? I had this one sitting on the back burner for a while... My original plan was a very complicated one that left me feeling too overwhelmed to tackle... than I realized that if I simplify, not only will it make it more approachable, but it might actually look better... 

Let's take a look at how it ended up coming together...

No Line Coloring with Kassi

  I absolutely love how this flower, and card turned out! It's so soft and elegant! 

But it didn't actually start out as a card...

This was originally just a warm up exercise... Not meant to be used for anything other than practice.

Doing ' warm up' exercises allow me to experiment and play with an image or technique without the normal pressure my perfectionism places on me. It gives me a chance to play with shadows and colors without worrying if I'm going to ruin the project.

I started by stamping the flower from Heels to You with Fadeout ink. 

 I then colored it using Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers...To get a very soft flower, I kept a light hand with the markers and used a lot of water to create washes. 

After the flower was colored, I loved it so much I had to turn it into a full card!  

To give the lettering a more vintage feel, I stamped the sentiment in brown ink, then over-stamped it with the Juicy Clear Embossing ink. I then covered it with Gold Rush embossing powder, and flicked the paper a lot more than usual to knock off some of the powder from the letters. I then heat set it.. the result is this pitted gold lettering!

To create the gold layer, I rubbed the InkOn3 Juicy Clear Embossing ink across the edge of that paper,  then heat embossed using Gold Rush powder. It's such a pretty shiny gold!
