Big Bold Magnolias Featuring Judy Woodland

Hello, Judy Woodland here, and it's my great good pleasure to be guest designing for the blog post today. I have been in LOVE with the Big Bold Magnolias stamp set for awhile, and was so happy when I finally got a chance to color it up for a card. PLUS, I could use the Atelier Re-inkers to do it. BONUS!!!!

Here is my card:

I began by stamping the flowers on watercolor paper with Ink On 3 Blackout Detail Ink. I then used the re-inkers as watercolors and laid down the color. I used My Jam Purple, Marilyn Red, Peacock Blue, Goddess Green, Bee Sting Yellow and Twiggy Brown.

Then I fussy cut all the flowers out.

The greeting was stamped on a die cut panel which had been washed with My Jam Purple and Peacock Blue ink. I used a greeting from the Dogwood Flower Stamp Set and heat embossed it with Chrome Ultra Fine Embossing Powder. The background panel was stamped with a dragonfly image from the Water Lilies Stamp set on some nice gray card stock. I used Juicy Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink and heat embossed with a glitter embossing powder.

Finally I was ready to put the card all together.

Atelier Ink Magical Unicorn card with Erica

Hi guys!

Erica here on the InkOn3 blog with another Magical Unicorn card. I can't help it, I love that stamp! To check out my no-line colouring card, click HERE. There is also a YouTube video for that card HERE.

For this card I have created a very colourful background by ink blending all the Atelier Inks, except Paint It Black and Twiggy Brown. I used a stencil and the Life Changing Blender Brushes from Picket Fence Studios. The stencil is called Basket Weave.

I started out by adhering the stencil to a panel of Bristol Vellum paper. It was still a little bit tacky from the Pixie Spray I had used during another crafting session, but I secured it with some purple tape at the top and bottom just to be on the safe side. Then I blended the colours in a rainbow look, from bottom to top it's Bee Sting Yellow, Marigold Orange, Marilyn Red, My Purple Jam, Peacock Blue and Goddness Green. I added the Goddess Green over the blue thinking it would go turquoise but it went a dark teal instead. Because I wanted some green on the panel as well, I added a little bit of Goddess Green to the bottom of the yellow.

I trimmed this panel down to 5"x4.25" and this was adhered to a white card base. The reason I trimmed it shorter than the height of the card base was to give it a while border at the top and the bottom.

The Magical Unicorn I heat embossed by stamping up the image with Juicy Ink and sprinkling Chrome Embossing powder on it. Once set, it was ready to be coloured. I did some loose water colouring using the Atelier ink re-inkers and lots of water. To add sparkle I used a little bit of Paint It Black re-inker and Liquid Pixie Dust to colour in the actual head of the unicorn.

On a piece of white card stock I stamped up the sentiment 'Hugs, Kisses and Unicorn Wishes' with Blackout detail ink. This was trimmed down to a slim strip and adhered to the card with liquid adhesive. As was the unicorn itself once it was cut out using the coordinating diecut.

I wanted to add some sequins to it as well but managed to rein myself in, as it already has a lot going on. Look at that, I am making progress with my sequin addiction!! LOL!

Bright Magical Unicorn No-Line colouring with Erica

Hi everyone! *waves excitedly*

Erica here with my first blog post on the Inkon3 blog as part of the design team! I’m so, so excited about working for this fab company. I’ve been such a fan of Fleurette’s magical Fadeout No Line Coloring ink since I first got my hands on it and to be asked to join the Inkon3 DT was a dream come true.

Right, I’m going to dive right in with the details of my card for today’s post! I’ve used the Magical Unicorn stamp set, paired with Fadeout ink and Zig Clean Color markers to create a bright and sparkly unicorn.

To start with, I stamped up the image with the help of my Mini MISTI. I use the MISTI whenever I stamp anything, just in case I feel it needs another stamp or two. To make sure I could really see the outlines of this stamp, I stamped it three times with the Fadeout ink.

Then it was colouring time! As I wanted a bright and vivid look, I added hardly any water to the Zig’s. Especially on the mane-bit. I did have to use some on the ears and the face and body, but that’s one of the brilliant things of the Zigs. You can get so many different looks just by adding water or just blending them without any water at all.

As the mane is so bright and colourful, I decided to keep the flowers all white and only add Liquid Pixie Dust to them. This is some serious sparkly stuff! If you are looking for something that will add sparkled to your projects, don’t look any further!

I used the dropper to get a couple of drops out, I use a tile as a palette as it’s easy to clean off, and then used the medium water colour brush to fill in the flowers. Once throughly covered I set this aside to dry to overnight to avoid any colours or Pixie Dust to get where it’s not supposed to. I’m over-cautious after having had one too many projects ruined by smudging ink, colour or something else because it wasn’t fully dry.

Coming back to the card the next day, I settled on a sentiment and heat embossed that with Chrome Ultra Fine embossing powder. Before I did anything embossing wise, I used my anti-static tool all over the image, except over the Pixie Dust flowers. I figured if a few stray silver bits went on them it would only make them more sparkly.

With the help of my Mini MISTI again, I stamped up the sentiment ‘Hugs, Kisses and Unicorn Wishes’ with Embossing ink and then sprinkled the embossing powder over it. A quick swish with the heat gun and a card base later, the card was done!

Pansy Shadowbox Card

If you have been following me over on Instagram, you may have noticed that I've been doing a lot of no-line watercolor painting lately...

I've really enjoyed painting Pansies. Pansies come in SO many different varieties, which makes them fun to color! And let's face it, this stamp set is BEAUTIFUL!

Supplies

Paper: Strathmore Bristol Smooth; Neenah Classic Crest Solar White; DCWV Metallics

Stamps: InkOn3 Pansies

Ink: InkOn3 Fadeout, Juicy Clear Embossing

Coloring: Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers

Blue/yellow- 302, 030, 038, 083, 051, 061, 050, 010

Pink- 230, 028, 082, 051, 052, 050

Peach- 071, 051, 028, 230

Light Purple bud- 030, 302, 083, 080

Dark Purple bud- 030, 038, 082, 080

Green- 046, 043

Other: InkOn3 Chrome Embossing Powder

Now you have your supplies, let's jump in!

 Step 1: Stamp you pansies on cardstock using Fadeout Ink. Use whichever paper you prefer for the coloring medium you want to use. I knew I would be using Zig Clean Color markers, so I stamped on Bristol Smooth cardstock. I didn't know exactly which pansies I would end up using, so I just stamped them all!

Tip: I suggest using a MISTI for this.. Fadeout ink is a very light ink.. with some images (and depending on how good your eyes are), you may find that double, or even triple stamping is needed to make sure you can see all the lines clearly enough.. I like having that option even if I don't end up needing to double stamp for a darker line. 

Step 2: Color away! 

I used this as a time to experiment.. If you do a quick image search for 'pansies', you'll find they come in SO MANY different colors and patterns! I chose some reference photos that I liked, and tried to recreate with my painting.

Step 3: When you have finished coloring, cut them out... You can fussy cut like I did, or use the coordinating dies 

Step 4: Cut 2 cardstock panels to fit your card size (I'm using A2). Using a set of nesting dies (must have at least 3 nested dies), die cut the smallest from the center of one panel, and the middle size from the center of the other panel.

Step 5: Use the largest die and the middle die to create a frame from metallic cardstock.

Step 6: Stamp your sentiment on your card base using Juicy Clear Embossing ink, and emboss with Chrome embossing powder. Use the panel with the smallest window as your placement guide.

Step 7: Adhere your small window panel to the card base using foam tape. Adhere the metallic frame to the larger window panel, then adhere that panel on top of the smaller one using foam tape. 

Step 8: Adhere the bunch of pansies across the bottom of your frame using foam tape. If the flowers overhang different layers (like mine do), you'll need to add 2-3 layers of foam tape in places to ensure it is supported and won't get crushed in the mail. 

Step 9:  Finish it off by tucking extra buds and leaves in the lower frame areas to help fill it out and make it look like the flowers are growing through all the layers of the card.

I don't know about you, but I think I'm addicted... If you need me I'll be in my studio paining pansies....

Sugar Plum Shaker Card by Ilda

Hey all, Ilda here from I Love Doing All things crafty! 

Today I am sharing another creation for Ink On 3. This cute little shaker card features the little mouse from the Dance and Twirl Stamp set. 

I began by stamping out the mouse using Blackout ink. I then colored it in with Copic markers. 

(I will list all the Copics I used at the bottom of this post.)

Next, I worked on the background panel. I used Fadeout Ink to stamp out the little bell cluster from the Fairy Christmas Set all over the background. I created holly clusters instead by coloring the bells in red.

To the shaker window frame, I stamped out the sentiment by using Juicy Ink and then embossing it with the Chrome Ultra Fine Embossing Powder.
